E-Dumpling Flinders Lane, Melbourne CBD

https://www.zomato.com/melbourne/e-dumpling-cbd

This is probably one of my favourite places in Melbourne CBD for a quick, cheap, tasty, and filling lunch that’s pretty consistently good.

E-dumpling flinders lane food Tucked away just off Elizabeth street, near the state library, is a line of French folding doors, behind which, you can find e-dumpling.

The place has a ridiculously extensive menu, with over 100 things to choose from, from the cheap, quick and hopefully not too dirty, to more premium meals that you can kind of hoe would be cooked with a bit more love and care… but you will still get change for a $20 note for it.

Anyway, this place is pretty close to my heart, and I tend to take friends here for dinner when they come to Melbourne- the fact that we walk away after having has a very filling tasty and substantial meal, plus a few cold beers to wash it down, yet there is still change form a pineapple $50 note tends to start people off on a good note in Melbourne.

The reviews on other sites tend to agree with my assessment, though, admittedly, the service can be a bit sketchy sometimes, but, you get what you pay for. Personally, I like to spend my money on good food, not bowing and scraping myrmidons- I see enough of them at work.!

My personal favourites are the pork dumplings, the satay dumplings and the chicken katsu with chicken soup combo. I forget what “numbers these are on the menu.

Either way, you cant really go wrong with this place!

This fine establishment even makes it into lists of awesome places to enjoy some dumpling love in the CBD- I tend to agree wholeheartedly!

What I am curious about is the “e” ness of the dumplings. No online ordering, no fancy apps, not even a website. But the place is there, in bricks and mortar.

Recently a sushi bar and hot quick service bain maree has been added for the time poor and starving office worker. The stuff proffered is far from swill either- it makes a pretty good and tasty lunch!
